Nordstrom Rack Opens at Granite Run on Oct. 29
Nordstrom Rack will open its newest Philadelphia-area store on Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Promenade at Granite Run in Media. The 30,000-square-foot store sits at 1103 W. Baltimore Pike, Suite E.
The Media opening is one of three October debuts for the off-price chain in the region, reports Emma Dooling of the Philadelphia Business Journal. Marlton opened Oct. 8, and Deptford follows on the same Oct. 29 date as Media.
Once all three are open, Nordstrom Rack will have 10 stores across the Philadelphia region, including Center City, King of Prussia, Willow Grove, Langhorne, Cherry Hill and Newark. The Media store will be the only Nordstrom of any kind in Delaware County.
Shoppers can expect apparel, shoes, accessories, beauty products and home goods at discounts of up to 70 percent off. The store will also offer pickup for online Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack orders, plus in-store returns.
The Promenade at Granite Run is the mixed-use development that replaced the former Granite Run Mall. It holds about 400 residential units and 830,000 square feet of retail, already home to Boscov’s, TJ Maxx, Michaels and Miller’s Ale House.
The expansion shows Seattle-based Nordstrom doubling down on its off-price business after going private in a $6.25 billion deal last year. An Exton location opened in late August as part of the same push.
“We look forward to being a part of the Exton and Media communities and serving our customers with an amazing offering of great brands at great prices,” Nordstrom Rack president Gemma Lionello said in a statement.
Hiring is underway for sales associates, cashiers and stock positions ahead of the holiday season, when new retail openings typically add part-time jobs across Delaware County.
