SEPTA Key Card Unlocks October Deals at Philadelphia-Area Businesses

PHILADELPHIA — SEPTA Key cards are good for more than rides this month. The transit agency’s October perks calendar ties discounts at area businesses to food holidays and Halloween, according to SEPTA.

On Oct. 22, Nuts To You offers cardholders a free jumbo popcorn with a purchase of $20 or more for National Nut Day. On Oct. 27, several breweries join in for National American Beer Day, including $2 off Yards beer at Campo’s in Old City and 10 percent off to-go four-packs at Cartesian Brewing, according to a SEPTA news release reported by Philadelphia Newsroom.

Human Robot SÜD on East Passyunk Avenue is offering 10 percent off orders, while La Cabra Brewing in Berwyn is promoting a half-off special on a first beer purchase.

On Oct. 29, Scrappy Cat in Lansdowne gives cardholders 10 percent off purchases for National Cat Day. On Halloween, Shane Confectionery in Old City offers a free buttercream with any $10 purchase.

Earlier in the month, Buena Onda in Fairmount marked National Taco Day with 10 percent off, and Zio’s Pizza in Center City did the same for National Sausage Pizza Day.

The deals apply when customers show their SEPTA Key cards at participating businesses. SEPTA publishes the full perks calendar on its website.

For regular riders, the perks effectively turn the fare card into a discount card, adding everyday savings on top of the commute.
