A Rain-Free Weekend With the Coldest Night of the Fall on Saturday
The Philadelphia region will see a run of clear days this weekend with no rain in the forecast. Temperatures will drop sharply on Saturday night, however, in what is expected to be the coldest night of the fall so far.
Friday will be full of sunshine, with a daytime high reaching 62 degrees. Temperatures fall to around 40 degrees at night.
Saturday will be partly cloudy with a high of 63 degrees. The night is the concern. Temperatures will fall to 38 degrees, and in suburban areas where the wind stays calm, temperatures near the ground can drop further and frost can form. Anyone with late-fall vegetables or potted plants left in the garden would do well to cover them.
Sunday turns sunny again, with the high climbing to 67 degrees. A full moon rises at night, and temperatures settle around 39 degrees.
Monday will be sunny and noticeably milder, with temperatures reaching 72 degrees.
It is a good weekend for outdoor work, from a fall foliage outing to chores around the house. The one thing that calls for preparation is the Saturday night cold.
