Around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, cars stretched in a long line outside a polling place in Newtown Square as voters arrived to cast ballots.

Campaign signs lined the grass along the road. The road in front of the polling place, with fall color and a church steeple in the background, was busy with cars bringing voters.
